PSD turns her down
PSD Update:

?We object to this move because it now means that 700 scholarships for bumiputra students are gone,?
?if the ‘cake’ was increased to 3,000 scholarships, using a ratio of 70:30, then bumiputras would get 2,100 places while non-bumiputras would get 900 places,? he said. Read HERE

SELAYANG: One of Selangor’s top SPM students, who achieved 14As and a grade point average of 92.5 for her extra-curricular activities, is reeling in disbelief after being rejected for a Public Service Department (PSD) scholarship. Lishaliney Uthrapathy dreams of becoming a doctor
Tan Sri Ismail Adam (PSD Director) -”As for the 151 students, comprising 34 Bumiputeras and 117 non-Bumiputeras, who scored 10A1’s in their SPM and whose family monthly income is less RM1,500, they should almost automatically get the PSD scholarships. “I said almost automatically, not automatically”

Why everytime , Malay’s are given a special attention and not Indian or Chinese ? why they want spoils our community kids who is showing to the world that they also can do the best ?

dam.. don noe why every year the same prob…
I feel so sorry for her. Hope this girl will get the Indian MPs or her area MP to help her appeal to PSD. When will our government start seeing all the PSD applicants as Malaysians and treat them equally - probably never. Anyway wish this girl the best as if she dont deserve a scholarship, then who does?
PSD really sucks… hope othr NGO wil help her.. im sure she wil become doc one day… all the best
Every Indian give her RM10 for her to continue her studies at INDIA. no need depend to Malaysian government to help her.
And MIC Putera wants to rope in Indian youths.. How to rope in youths when they are denied recognition such as Lishaliney??
So when all the learnt youth are driven away, MIC Putera can only be appealing to the unlearnt who end up as gangsters anyway. And they are the future leaders of MIC. Paints quite a picture ain’t it?
beautiful piece of idea mr.balan!! Y dont we help the girl?? Y dont we contribute sumthin for this poor little girl.. BUT this must be done by sumone who we can trust..maybe by our “makkal sakti”..
All d best lishaliney!!
My god, wat a joke. how on earth did ppl ever vote for these comedians ???

what the 3 mic man, 1 ppp man, 1 gerakan man in government doing?
ada ponggada…!
I do sympathize but lets face the fact, every Indian top student wants to do medicine as its the only course in the world. Indian students should start considering other fields like engineering courses especially those courses related to oil and gas industries. The prospects are as lucrative as medicine. If this girl opted to do engineering, she would have got the scholarship. Done deal. She could even choose her university - Cambridge, Imperial, MIT, Stanford. Sigh!!! I am going to be an engineer soon and I have to say that there are very few Indians in the industry.
@Mr. Deep Kumar…i really agree with u…but this gal was brought up by her parents by telling her to be a doctor….so its her aim n dream to do medic since she was young…she cant juz change her mind becoz of this gov….
@Ms. Kalaivani agree with u…..NGO scholarships r far more better than this gov scholarship…..
anyhow currently she doin Matrix in Johor (after appealling)….n her appeal to get PSD was rejected again…its very sad to see her struggle to get a stable place in her education…she scored so well n yet she struggling juz bcoz of this gov…i really hope she will do her best in her life n achieve her dreams….
Try other opporunities. She shouldn’t have trouble getting an ASEAN Scholarhip to do her A - Levels in Singapore. Someone of her intelligence and drive may be able to get an add-on scholarship to go to university overseas / in Singapore.
The Malaysian Indian community should start looking to Singapore as an option if they can’t get leave Malaysia for the West. For all that is wrong with our neighbour in the South, it’s far better for Indians there.

Since she is currently doing matriculation, she should just concentrate in that and get 4.00 in both of the semesters. That is the only way to get into the medical faculties in public universities.
There is really no point crying and pointing fingers. This is Malaysia, we just have to embrace that fact and structure our lives by ourselves. My advice to the girl is to study hard in matriculation and don’t blow your chance. Your parents depend on you.
Trust me, that is what that made me survive throughout my matriculation year. I was denied PSD scholarship too. Many of us were denied despite having straight A1s. You just got to find your own way out. Struggle-we have no choice.
