Lucky Wild Boar Temple @ Taiping

An Indian temple (Om Sakthi Sri Jada Muneesvarar Alayam) near Zenith Park in Taiping has turned into a night safari of sorts, attracting hundreds of visitors nightly.  They believe when you rub your money on the wild boar and they will bring you luck and  this place is getting famous among visitors specially gamblers.

Personally i think this is stupid, can you make money without doing nothing? Do you think this kind of believe is good for our community?….. Of course, feeding animals is a good thing but these peoples are using god name for gambling. Yeah! this is gambling, nothing else.

Temple is a very holy place to get the blessing from the god. Its really sad to see when people talk about money and ‘nombor ekor ‘ inside the temple…..

Indian or chinese it does not really matter. Why in the first place are the temple administrators sort of propogate this affair of touching the pigs. Bring in a few wild monkeys and feed them with banana’s daily. Soon, there will be a pack of monkeys. Coincidently someone would have accidentally touched one the monkeys and so happens that he strikes the lottery. Guess what, well….your guess is as good as mine. A bunch of monkeys looking at the real monkeys! When will they ever learn or repent. There is no such thing as easy money.

For your info the temple administrators didn’t create or spread this affairs in the first place. It was done by the new visitors(chinese)there. The temple exist for years and suddenly how come it becomed very famous in this pig issue, meanwhile indians are going to the temple for many years?

I agree with you, that the temple authorities did not create this affair, but do you agree with me that this is a win win situation. Without the pig’s there, we wont be seeing bus loads of people arriving. The temple authorities must be cashing in on this phenomena. Looks like the people visiting the temple are interested in the pigs rather than the residing deity.

Soon we’ll have people selling souvenir T-shirts there. It’ll be cool to have T-shirt says, ‘I touched a pig’; ‘A pig made me rich’; ‘I love pigs’; ‘Pigs are man’s best friends’, etc
The latest i heard was barren woman become pregnant after caressing the pigs. Wah…no need to go to st.Anne or Tasik Dayang Bunting.

From the comment itself we can conclude that this issue is nothing concern with the temple. Its the visitors there whom creating this kind of rumours and we have no reason to blame the temple. Pls und that the temple also is having problem from the authorities regarding this issue.

Oh! my the pigs are being fed with sardine rice which is being sold for two ringgit. Seems like the temple authorities are only interested in making some fast cash. This is quite apparent by the hazards the joss sticks seems to render. Nobody seems to bother to clear the urns once they are filled to the brink with burning joss sticks. ‘Devotees’ are getting their fingers burnt while trying to ’squeeze’ in their offering of burning joss sticks. Please, do something.Oh! please stop feeding the pig’s with sardine meal! Tapioca or sweet potatoes would be nice!

Come on lar bro, the temple have stop selling sardine rice quiet some time ago. The reason was they wanted to build a proper washroom for the visitors and the constuction have started. Im sure one visit to the temple couldn’t describe you the full story.Come and and see the temple now and you’ll understand. And the temple helpers/volunteers also are clearing the joysticks from the brink from time to time.

For your info, i check my facts before i post my comment. A bus load of Singaporeans visited the temple on the 13th of June, 2009. An old lady got her hans burnt. Another guy nearly got burnt marks on his shirt. They bought and fed the piiiiiiiiiiiiiig’s with sardine rice. The cost RM2.00. They are all complaining that the temple authorities/administrators are not doing much to cater for sincere worshippers.
